Electric sailing cost about 0,21 euro per hour electricity at full power (depending on you equipment). When you use fuel, it cost about 2,28 euro per hour at full power.


An electric motor need almost none maintenance. Unlike a gasoline engine, which has about 1 time per 1-2 years maintenance necessary.

When you sail with solar panels you do not need to charge your battery and you can leave the battery on the boat. Also charges your battery while cruising when the sun is shining. In the sunny months (April – September) loads your battery in 2 days completely.

When you are sailing with solar panels the electricity is free. When you are sailing with a gasoline engine, it costs about 0.70 euro per hour. Also you need maintenance once every few years.
